DIMMU BORGIR are keeping busy despite having turned down an offer to tour Scandinavia with KORN. The band are tentatively scheduled to begin working on material for a follow-up to 2003’s Death Cult Armageddon in October, although a late 2006 release is expected. Drummer Hellhammer (MAYHEM, ARCTURUS) has been recruited to play on the new album.
As previously reported, Hellhammer has drummed on DIMMU BORGIR’s re-recording of Stormblåst (originally released in 1996). The updated version, which was produced by Peter Tägtgren (HYPOCRISY, PAIN) is set for a November 7th release via Nuclear Blast Records. Additionally, the new version of Stormblåst features two new songs, “Sorgens Kammer ??” Del II" and “Abmaktslave”, plus a live DVD of an entire set filmed from last year’s Ozzfest.
