Blabbermouth.net has reported that no progress has been made to get EMPEROR guitarist, Samoth, the clearance to enter the US; therefore, he will not be joining the band for their final two shows in Los Angeles. As previously reported, Samoth was forced to miss EMPEROR’s two shows this weekend in New York City despite continued efforts from representatives in the US and the band’s home country of Norway to secure the proper approvals.
Samoth made the following statement regarding the situation: “It seems there is no progress on my visa today either. That pretty much makes it the last chance for me to participate on the U.S. tour dates. I can’t believe this is actually happening. All of this is beyond the band’s control. I’m glad to hear the show did well last night and that the fans are being supportive. We really appreciate it. Hopefully I’ll make it over at a later point.”
The band will proceed as a four-piece for tonight’s show at the Key Club in Hollywood and Monday night at the House of Blues. EMPEROR are also on schedule for an in-store autograph session at Tower Records on Sunset Blvd. tomorrow (July 17th) at 6:30 p.m.
