Norway’s ENSLAVED are planning to play their entire Eld album at their upcoming appearance at Hole in the Sky Festival in Bergen, Norway. This is the first and last time they have and will play the album, originally released in 1997, in its entirety. Hole in the Sky takes place August 24 through August 27. ENSLAVED is scheduled to perform on Friday, August 26.
In other news, ENSLAVED are currently putting the finishing touches on their Return to Yggdrasil DVD. The disc contains the band’s May 4th performance in Bergen as well as bonus material from the band’s European tour, including a band interview. The sound is being handled by Lars Klokkerhaug (who mixed the band’s latest effort, ISA) and the editing of the footage is being taken care of by Stig “Ese” Eliassen (VREID guitarist).
Lastly, ENSLAVED were awarded “Metal Album of the Year” at the Norwegian “Grammy” awards, Spellemannprisen, for ISA. The band also received the independent Alarm Award for “Best Metal Album” of 2004.
