KATAKLYSM will be filming a video for their first single, “As I Slither,” from their next full-length album, Serenity In Fire. The shoot will take place at their upcoming performance at the Las Vegas Metalfest during Labor Day Weekend. Director Joe Lynch, who has worked with artist from COAL CHAMBER to 311 to PETE YORN, had this to say:
“Let’s face it…KATAKLYSM are brutal and talented musicians, and it’s an honour to work with a band who still pursues the fundamentals of what makes powerful metal, and I mean like ‘balls out, 150% proof, freak your momma’ type metal here, folks. All I wanna do with this video is capture their intense performance in the middle of Hades-er, Vegas, which should prove to be an interesting backdrop. I’ll tell you this, I’m excited as hell to shoot the shit outta these guys…and just a little scared, which to me is a good thing for metal, and hopefully that will translate onto this clip.”
The band will be entering the studio this fall to begin recording Serenity In Fire for an early 2004 release. Recording will take place at Studio Victor in Montreal, and guitarist Jean-Francois Dagenais will be overseeing production duties.
