Swedish metallers MESHUGGAH have begun writing new material for their follow-up to last year’s highly successful Nothing album after taking some time off during the end of summer. The band have also been working on enhancements of their studio for future recordings. According to a post on the band’s official website, “we have been trying out a whole bunch of different microphones for the drums, because this time we are planning to record the whole album in the studio, not just guitars and vocals.”
In related news, drummer Tomas Haake and guitarist Fredrik Thordendal are currently in Umea, Sweden recording a sample CD called Drumkit from Hell II, which is set for an early 2004 release via Toontrack Music. Read more about Drumkit from Hell II here.
