According to HALFORD’s manager, John Baxter, the 2003 Metal Gods Tour, featuring HALFORD, TESTAMENT, IMMORTAL, PRIMAL FEAR, AMON AMARTH, CARNAL FORGE, and PAINMUSEUM has been abruptly cancelled after only four shows due to “contractual difficulties” and “legal reasons.” Baxter was unable to provide a timeline as to when specific details regarding the tour’s failure would be available; however, he did offer the following overview:
“It was a single individual that caused the collapse of the tour. The individual’s employer was unaware of what their employee was doing until early this week, and the matter was eventually brought to my attention on Tuesday (5/29). I worked tirelessly with everyone to try and overcome the problems.
“All the labels and managers understood it was going to be impossible for me to overcome what had been set in motion, but I gave it all my attention with hopes of finding a solution.”
Despite the cancellation, Baxter confirmed that both HALFORD and TESTAMENT have agreed to recapture as many dates from the Metal Gods Tour as possible as well as additional markets not originally scheduled. The rescheduled dates will likely occur in June and/or July. Additional bands will be announced at a later time.
