The release of DEICIDE’s Earache Records debut, Scars of the Crucifix, is just around the corner (February 23rd in Europe, February 24th in the US) and will be released in four different formats. Limited pressings of the CD editions will be bundled with a bonus DVD containing Behind the Scars: Under the Skin of Deicide, a documentary featuring footage of the band in the studio recording the album, at home, on the gun range, on stage in Las Vegas, and out on the road. Behind the Scars clocks in at over 35 minutes. Below is a breakdown of the formats that will be available when the album drops:
Jewel case CD version: first 50,000 copies will include the bonus DVD
Slipcase CD version: US only; limited to 3,000 copies all with the DVD; housed in a black slipcase with a die-cut inverted cross; exclusive to mom and pop stores (not available at major chains)
Digipak CD version: Europe only; limited to 10,000 copies all with the DVD; includes signature guitar pick as used by the band (one copy will feature a specially minted DEICIDE guitar pick made of metal – the lucky fan who picks that up will win a BC Rich NJ Beast guitar)
Vinyl version: limited to 2,000 copies; pressed on heavyweight 180-gram 12" black vinyl; alternate album cover; released March 15th
