Legendary New York death metallers, SUFFOCATION, have confirmed their widely rumored reformation consisting of four of the band’s original members, Frank Mullen (vocals), Terrance Hobbs (guitar), Mike Smith (drums), Josh Barohn (bass), and new guitarist Guy Marchais (formerly of PYREXIA and INTERNAL BLEEDING). Drummer Mike Smith made the following statement regarding the band’s reformation:

“The much needed vacation SUFFOCATION has taken over the years individually and as a whole only refueled the intensity we’ve grown to call our own. I truly feel for any who doubt our intentions.”

While, the band are currently holed up in the studio working on their as-of-yet untitled new album, their first release since 1998’s Despise the Sun, they will make a triumphant return to the scene at this year’s New England Metal and Hardcore Festival. SUFFOCATION are also slated to headline one night of the three-day Maryland Death Fest.
