THE MARS VOLTA are busy working on their follow-up to last year’s acclaimed De-Loused in the Comatorium album, which has been confirmed to carry the title Frances the Mute. The album, their second full-length, is tentatively scheduled for a November release date; however, rumors have surfaced that the release date will be pushed back til after the new year.
A special double-vinyl edition is planned for release via guitarist Omar Rodriguez-Lopez’s label Gold Standard Laboratories that will include a third bonus 12" of the first single from Frances the Mute. A CD version of that single will also be made available. The CD release will be out through Universal Music.
In other news, Rodriguez-Lopez’s previously reported solo release, A Manual Dexterity - Soundtrack Volume 1, will feature the following songs:
01 “Around Knuckle White Tile”
02 “Dyna Sark Arches” (mp3)
03 “Here The Tame Go By”
04 “Deus Ex Machina”
05 “Dramatic Theme”
06 “A Dressing Failure”
07 “Sensory Decay Part II”
08 “Of Blood Blue Blisters”
09 “Dream Sequence”
10 “The Palpitations Form A Limit”
The album will be out in mid-August, but the Gold Standard Laboratories website is currently taking pre-orders.
