According to Zia Records, THE MARS VOLTA have opted not to print the lyrics for their forthcoming album, De-Loused In the Comatorium, in the album liner but rather publish an accompanying book with lyrics and interpretation. Vocalist, Cedric Bixler, explained that their new album is a tribute to a friend who committed suicide while he and guitarist, Omar Rodriguez, were in the now defunct AT THE DRIVE-IN. “The book serves a master key to the record: it should explain a lot of the questions I get asked about phrases and meanings behind the lyrics,” said Bixler. While no release date has been set for the book, it will be released via Rodriguez’s own Gold Standard Labs label. De-Loused In the Comatorium hits stores on June 24th through Universal Music.
