THE MARS VOLTA will be releasing their fifth album, Octahedron, on June 23rd via Warner Bros. Records in the U.S. (June 22nd via Mercury Records elsewhere).
The follow-up to last year’s The Bedlam in Goliath will feature an appearance by John Frusciante of the RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS. Frusciante has collaborated with THE MARS VOLTA in the past.
The first single from the album in North America will be “Since We’ve Been Wrong” while overseas it will be “Cotopaxi”.
A tour supporting the new effort is expected but as of now, only European dates and one U.S. performance at Bonaroo, are announced.
