Grindcore has never been a genre that has been guilty of being oversaturated with bands. Fortunately, there are a handful of very cool grind bands out there such as LOCK UP. Hate Breeds Suffering is basically a combination of TERRORIZER and latter day NAPALM DEATH. Each 2-3 minute song just blasts by with riff after unrelenting riff. Unlike most present day grindcore bands, LOCK UP actually inject hooks and a clean production for their music. Tomas Lindberg (AT THE GATES/THE GREAT DECEIVER/SKITSYSTEM) seems to have been the missing piece of the band. His trademark throat-shredding vocals make LOCK UP a totally enjoyable experience. While this album will not revolutionize anything, it does deliver what it’s supposed to ??“hyper fast, in your face grindcore. Don’t be fooled by imitators (with members from non-related bands).
